Computer mice have limited life spans, but we can never know for sure how many times we can click their buttons until they start wearing out. Regardless of your reasons, if you wish to count your clicks or measure the distance you travel with your mouse, FunMouse can provide you with such information. While running quietly in the background, this simple and lightweight application will count your left and right clicks and measure the distance you travel with your mouse. Besides displaying some interesting statistics, FunMouse offers a few practical functions as well. It allows you to assign shortcuts to specific spots on the screen and perform various actions through mouse gestures.
The application is offered free of charge, but you can make a donation if you wish to support future developments. Installing FunMouse is a quick and easy procedure. You can use it on Windows Vista or any later version, without sacrificing too much disk space or processing power.
FunMouse works in the background, but you can reveal a small panel with statistics, by hovering with the mouse cursor over a system tray icon. The application displays the distance you travel with your mouse, the number of left and right clicks, the total number of clicks and keystrokes. The statistics are updated in real time, as you move the mouse, click or type. You may click a few options, if you wish to pin the panel on the screen, minimize it or open the main configurations panel.
The general settings menu is the place where you may customize various shortcuts. You can choose certain edges or corners of the screen and assign actions, like showing the Start menu, locking or shutting down the computer, launching the applications and more. Additionally, you may assign a few actions to certain mouse gestures. All you have to do is move the cursor in a certain direction, while holding down the right mouse button, to copy, paste or cut an item, navigate in Windows Explorer or on a web browser or launch a program. If you don't want FunMouse to get in your way, you can set up exceptions, to prevent it from counting your clicks or to disable the mouse gestures, while a certain application is running.
Pros:
FunMouse will count your mouse clicks and measure the distance you travel with the mouse. It also allows you to assign various shortcuts, for applications or actions, to mouse gestures or hotspots on the screen.
Cons:
The application doesn't take the scroll wheel or any additional buttons into account.
FunMouse gives you the possibility of running your applications and performing various actions instantly, while providing interesting statistics about your mouse usage.
